Mission

The Solutions Architect is responsible for solving our clients' ecommerce problems and challenges with smart creative solutions. Additionally, they are responsible for communicating effectively and efficiently at all times, keeping the wider team informed on progress and seeing each project or task through to resolution and delivery. 

The Solutions Architect will work closely with the delivery team (Project Managers, Solutions Specialists, Developers and Designers) to achieve our clients’ business goals, deliver sites and projects within agreed timelines and budgets.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the technical design and build of scalable, best-in-class solutions for GPMD’s clients 
  • Turning business requirements into technical solutions by defining features, development phases and solution requirements for client projects
  • Reviewing business, functional and technical requirements, as well as gathering and articulating non-functional requirements
  • Creating key architecture documentation and deliverables
  • Updating management team on overall project progress e.g. risks, technology stack and propose suitable alternatives
  • Ensuring at key project milestones that the solution design is being met by the build team and remains fit for purpose
  • Identifying opportunities and working on solutions with the delivery team within the scope of R&D / Proof of Concept / prototyping where appropriate
  • Leading integration and end-to-end system testing (including documentation)

  • Communication: Speaks and writes clearly and articulately. Maintains this standard in all forms of written communication. Demonstrated ability to communicate the complexities of technical projects and collaborate with delivery teams
  • Honesty / Integrity: Earns trust and maintains confidence. Does what is right, not just what is politically expedient. Speaks plainly and truthfully
  • Ecommerce Knowledge: Has a good understanding of ecommerce and online retail. Experience specifically with Magento, Shopware, BigCommerce and Shopify, or similar ecommerce platform, would be beneficial
  • Required Skills: Excellent configuration, development and integration skills. Excellent knowledge of integration tools, as well as environment management, release management, best practices for code versioning and development methodologies
  • Additional Skills: Knowledge of HTML/CSS & Google Environments (GA, GTM, GSC) is a plus

Salary and Benefits

Starting Salary: £55-65k 

We undertake regular performance reviews and salaries are reviewed annually based on performance.
