Website design is completely subjective and can be incredibly difficult to get right. Luckily GPMD are here to help. We have an extremely thorough design process which enables us to create a visually appealing website design for your organisation.
Here is our basic design process. Hopefully this will give you an idea of what is involved in a GPMD project.
Creating wire frames for your site is very important because they give you a clear idea of how the website is going to work before you actually start the design process itself. Here's an example wire frame for our own website.
This is where you get to look at a lot of other websites. A mood board is basically a collection of screen grabs from other websites that either have the same 'feel' that your website needs or is not the correct approach for your project. We can then go through the mood board with you discussing various elements of each website design that you like or dislike. The feedback from this session will help our designers create the most appropriate website design possible.
Creating concepts is the heavy graphic design phase. This is where we actually create a set of designs for your approval. For simple brochure-ware websites we sometimes only create one set of concept designs. However, lots of our customers are happy to pay for additional sets so that they can review two or more different approaches.
Once you have seen the concept design or chosen your favourite one (or in most cases, picked elements from each) we then draw up a revision document which outlines the changes. From this document we can make suggestions and then revise the concepts to match your feedback. A typical project include two rounds of minor revisions however we are happy to do more if required.
When you are happy with the finalised design concept we will sign-off the design and move into the build phase.
