Wild Beef

Wild Beef produce and retail the most excellent British beef. Richard Vines breeds and raises North and South Devon and Welsh Black cattle on his farm in Devon using traditional farming methods. Wild Beef sell their produce at markets in Somerset and London and also by mail order. He needed a website to help promote the business and keep in touch with his customers.

Our Solution

Designed by Allies Design and developed using the SilverStripe Content Management System, our solution included an index of the produce which was entirely managed through SilverStripe, giving the advantage that items could be added, edited or remove easily.

We also created a number of page types tailored to fit the other content required for the site, these included a recipe section, a blog, press, people and publications. By creating a data structure to fit the required content we made managing the site a breeze giving Richard complete control over his content.

Results

Launched in March 2009 the website offers Richard a way to communicate with his customers and is regularly updated with news and events and interesting publications. Richard also makes use of email to keep customers informed.

Since launch traffic has been building steadily. Because this is a new site it will take time for it to gain Google rankings - although it's made a good start!
