Season Magazine

Season Magazine is dedicated to showcasing the best of East Anglia's local food and good living to local residents. The editors were apprehensive about taking their local magazine online, but knew a blog style website was the natural partner to their printed magazine.

Our Solution

Allies Design created the perfect look to complement the printed magazine and SilverStripe provided the perfect platform to build the website.

The website uses GPMD's blog module and is built in SilverStripe commenting system, with the mollom plug-in to deter spammers.

Because the Season team were web newbies we provided several training sessions to help familiarise them with not just SilverStripe but how to use the blogging approach to make the website more than just a repetition of the printed magazine.

Results

Launched in May 2008 the website immediately gained plenty of praise for its good looks and ease of use. The website has been building traffic since launch and continues to do so. The editorial team are still getting used to publishing online and the website will continue to grow - watch this space!
