Award winning garden designer Philip Nixon required a website to complement his elegant and contemporary gardens. The website needed to be sophisticated, easy to navigate and the star of the show had to be the gardens not the website! Needlass to say the photography was incredible.
Allies Design created a design that matched the brief; the challenge for us was to create smooth animation for the menu and slideshow. Philip also wanted an introduction splash page which we needed to implement without harming the sites performance in the search engines.
The website was based on the SilverStripe content managment system with special page types created to allow each portfolio page to house as many images as possible. All images are automatically optimised using SilverStripes built-in image processing which means that the site can be updated with new projects and photography with ease.
Launched in May 2008 the website has been a great showcase for Philip Nixon's work.
